Weight Management- need advice

Alright- heading out tomorrow for a 15 mile hike or so with full gear. Call it a try-out for the big hike starting in a week.
Weighed in tonight at 40 lbs! Gasp…

Food Choice for the Long Trail

I’ve still got some work to do, but I’m getting closer to a daily menu.
Breakfast:
4 “servings” of instant mash potatoes
1 carnation instant breakfast drink
Lunch / Snacks while hiking:
2 pepperoni sticks
3 bags of fruit snacks (2.5 servings per bag)
2 zone protein bars
2 king size snickers
assorted jolly ranchers

5 “servings” of organic brown rice
