Changes happening…

…In some places and not others it seems. First the obvious- if you didn’t notice the site is going through some cosmetic (and structural behind the scenes) changes. I’m hoping to make it a little more spiffy, but time is a premium right now. I’m back in class now while I still work fulltime. So far so good, but it has only been three weeks. I just find an hour here and there between classes to catch up on the day’s work, while cramming the rest in the three days I am not on campus.

On another note- perhaps it is time for a change in the more macro sense of the world?
Let’s pretend I am CEO of a mega-company. I’m my own boss in a sense, as far as day to day operations go. However I am responsible to a much larger boss, the shareholders. So here is the question. Would I have the audacity to ignore 60 or 70 percent of my shareholders if I thought they were wrong? What if my approval ratings from my shareholders was 30 percent? At what point would I leave behind my ego, ignorance, or whatever power trip is strangling me, and follow the wishes of those that I am responsible for? Or on another note, as shareholders, how long do we allow our CEO to mingle with our resources (or in the macro sense something much more dear to familes) before removing him or her?

Points to ponder I imagine.

Perhaps Theodore Roosevelt said it a bit better than I:

“To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
