So I’ve tried to consistently donate blood the past few years to the
American Red Cross. Sometimes I am more consistent than others.
Today I added two more donations, bone marrow and platelets. The
platelets are collected through the Apherisis machine. It takes your
blood out one arm, ’spins’ it to separate the platelets, then pumps

Unfortunately I had contaminated water in my boat. With what you
ask? I don’t know, except that it did not smell very pretty. Out
came the bleach, let the tanks soak for a day or two, and now I am
‘rinsing’ them by draining the full tanks into the bilge so I can
