Dream Catcher Update #5

May 25th, 2005 · No Comments

Well I really hoped to send updates while on the coast, but so far it
doesn’t look like it is going to happen. Near the coastline I have
service, but we went about ten miles out or so. So unfortunately you
will probably receive all of these updates when we are already back
in Astoria safe and sound.
We’ve slowed down some, but we’re still averaging 7 knots. The
wind finally switched from the North East to the Northwest, blowing
an average of 5 knots. Still no decision on the Columbia Bar yet.
At this speed we would be just in time for the early slack. However
it is an ebb slack. Meaning if we are late by an hour, we’re going to
have a nasty ebb flowing out of the columbia. We’ll keep at it for
now. I don’t think we’ll make any decisions until we are around
Gray’s Harbor, around eight hours from now.
All is good though, fair seas, just a little 2-3 foot swell, and
bright and sunny skies!

Josh
