It’s Late Again…

May 13th, 2005 · 1 Comment

I should go home and sleep, but I’m still working on the Fire
Department Levy stuff. Today’s tally is at 47% turnout. I need 40
more voters before Tuesday. Shouldn’t be hard.
Another great day at the Food Bank. Wish I was energized enough to
write about it, but have another long day tomorrow.
Tomorrow is the National Letter Carriers Food Drive. In one day,
Oregon Postal Workers collect over 1.5 million pounds of food! Then
we get to process all of it!
So as a closing thought for the night, here’s a fact for you.
The Federal Poverty Line is $18,850.
That is gross, meaning before taxes are taken out.
Here’s the startling piece though: $18,850 is the poverty line for a
family of four!
In the state of Oregon, working full-time at minimum wage will bring
you $15,080 (gross).

‘nough said.
