A weekend in review…

April 18th, 2005 · 4 Comments

Many of you noticed that there were no updates this weekend. It was busy, but great! So here’s an update:

Friday night I attended the Bruce Schwab get together at Portland State with Jeese (more about her later), neighbor Kris, and his girlfriend Wilderness. We ran into several sailing buddies down there and had a great time watching Bruce’s video’s and pictures.
If you don’t know about Bruce, check out his website and check out all the amazing things he has done in his quest to be the first American to finish the Vendee Globe!

Annie and Jen from Corvallis spent the weekend on the boat, as they were volunteering at the NW Pet and Companion Fair at the Expo.
Saturday Jesse and I hiked the 8+ mile loop at Silver Falls State Park. A beautiful place, and not a better person to enjoy it with!
If you haven’t met Jesse yet, you will soon I imagine. Perhaps we’ll give her an account here and get her to introduce herself also!

Saturday evening I enjoyed a beautiful sunset here at Parker’s Landing first from the row boat, and then from the top of the mast…

And what could be better than a sunset, than enjoying Rimsky’s KorsaKofee house with Annie, Jen, Jesse, and Matt!
Sunday morning Shawn, Kirsten, Tom, and I all kayaked the Gilbert River. We had hoped to go all the way to Sturgeon Lake but we were fighting the outgoing tide. We did see 4 or 5 Bald Eagles, a few Falcons, and at least a dozen Great Blue Herons. A great time!

Time with the family yesterday afternoon, enjoying my nieces, and a quick jaunt with my brother on Skates.
Finally last night I settled in down at Hadley’s Landing for the night, a quick motor down the channel from my marina. A nice way to finish the weekend…

Great photos Josh! Sounds like it’s nice and peaceful down there at the water. Not here… the poor little doggie upstairs is alone all day and he lets everyone know it.

Look forward to meeting Jesse… glad you guys had a great weekend.
