Well I did quite a bit of class changes last minute this term. I was
not really sure how I would like these classes, or how tough of a term
it would be because of that. So just a few thoughts after two days of
classes.
“Interest Groups,” a political science course, had the potential to be

That was close!
March 28th, 2005 · 1 Comment
Apparently its been raining– quite a bit more than I thought it had
been. Two boats that I had in the water were pretty full. Woops. The
one took about 10 minutes with a bucket to drain, the other one has had
the bilge pump running for about 15 minutes and its still going. [...]

The rain has finally stopped. All is quiet now on the water. There is
something magical about this place. When you shut your TV off and just
listen, life responds just outside your window…

“Grandparents, Infants, and Gale-force Winds” in two acts
March 26th, 2005 · 1 Comment
Emailed this to Cascadia tonight, a group of a couple hundred sailors
here in the NorthWest. Posting here for your amusement. Despite how
it sounds in the short email, it truly was a fun night with the family
Act One:
My Grandparents are in town this weekend. We loaded up three cars,
grandparents in their [...]

Quick update for the night…
March 25th, 2005 · No Comments
I’m sitting in Cannon Beach for the night with the family. So just a
quick update from the lobby of the Tolovana Inn.
There’s supposed to be a “super storm” tonight. We’ll see about that.
So far its just cloudy and normal swells. Hot tub will be nice later,
maybe some sea shells in the morning, [...]

A sad story of the Irving Johnson.
Sounds like the boat is up on the beach now and there is no serious damage.

Yesterday’s Hike
March 23rd, 2005 · 1 Comment
If you haven’t heard yet, Matt and I didn’t go all the way to Devil’s
Peak last night. We hiked maybe half way up the mountain, but with
both of us getting over illnesses and the snow flurry that was quickly
worsening as we gained elevation, we decided to come down the mountain
and enjoy a nice dinner [...]

Key Recall?
March 21st, 2005 · 1 Comment
My key broke off in the door of my Aspire today. This is the second
key I have broken in this car. Makes me wonder if there was a recall
or something?? Probably not, but it sure is annoying. Now I am in the
back seat of a friends car driving back to the island [...]

An interesting surprise this morning…
March 20th, 2005 · No Comments
The fire pager went off early this morning, well it was 7:26am. That’s early considering I’ve been up at 6 most of the week and was looking forward to sleeping in. With all the wind and rain last night, gale winds that is, a barge broke free on the Willamette river and washed ashore [...]
